Help please...

Well the knee is no better but is usable. After doing some research this weekend and doing my bike rides, it seems the tightness in my knee is from an over use injury that is just inflamed. I am trying to break the inflammation but nothing is really working so today I am getting an appointment to see what the good doctor can do if anything. Hopefully they have a brand new knee I can pick up at CVS and be good to go by next week. I love HMO's!

Seriously, I was supposed to do a brick Sunday after a 4 hour bike ride on Saturday. Saturday morning was flippin cold so I didn't get started until 9 and I ended up doing the local mountain climb, Parris Mountain. I called it a day after 2 hours and a half. Not bad for getting some other muscles worked. Knee felt pretty good was a little tight. Sunday I was planning on doing a 2hr bike and a 1 hr run. After the bike and setting a really good pace my knee was extremely tight. Could I have run? Yes. Should I have run? I don't know. I decided to have a pity party about my knee and call it a day. Went to my bible study class Sunday night and eat like a pig. Banana split and all! Anyway, I have got to change my mindset about this. I am not sure what is going on with my knee. I think it is an overuse injury and I know my cardio is at a spot right now where I can finish the run, but will I be there in three weeks? That is my problem. I need to run this week and see what I feel like. I hope my cold heat and compression help my leg. We will see.

Take care and I hope you guys had a better weekend then myself.

Hang in there! I'm still confident you can finish this thing. Be patient! Rest, heal up and you WILL finish IM Floridia. Save the racing for Louisville '08. You'll feel that much better when you set a killer PR in Kentucky.

I hope it all turns out okay with the doc. Maybe you could do some pool running to keep up the cardio and not impact? Keep your spirits up and stay positive. You'll be fine.
