Well after my write up on Friday, I felt I needed to do something to get me out of my funk. I had a swim that night and I have felt up to this point that my swim is what I was more worried about. So I hopped in the pool and did 4000 meters in an hour and 20 mins. I felt really good after that and my legs were good. I did have a few toe cramps but I was able to control them without stopping. (Anyone have ideas on stretches to stop toe cramps during the swim?)
I went home and we went to our cool downtown area and hung out with friends to listen to Friday night jazz night. Very relaxing.
Saturday morning I hopped on the bike as soon as the sun was up enough for me to ride around safely. I had to get 5 hours of riding in. I started out going towards downtown and cruising to wake up my legs. I averaged 17mph to get going. I then headed back towards my usual bike ride. Once I got to my halfway point I eat my PB&J and headed back home. Overall the ride was good. I had some pain early on in my knees but after I warmed up I was feeling good. I had some pain in my booty area but that was expected. No real bad back problems for the ride which was good. I felt like I could have taken off for a run but the wife was standing there with our cute little boy so I just chilled out for the rest of the day. I ended up with 90miles on the bike averaging 18mph.
Sunday Morning was my long run. My legs were a little tight from the bike ride but I had energy. Once I got to mile 4 of the run my legs felt good so I picked it up a little. I love running out of all of the events. I got to my turn around and was feeling really good. I only had one bad spot where I was running out of just plain water, so I stopped and ran into a gas station and bought a water and filled up my flasks and off I go again. They totally revived me. The cool water cramped my stomach a little but nothing major. I worked through that and kept trucking. Overall the run was great. No major problems except some tightness in my left hamstring, which is still hurting now. I ended up with 19 miles in 2hrs 38mins. Felt great and could have kept on going but I needed to get home and go to church. I really wanted to get my first 20 miler under my belt but 19 will do.
I hope everyone's weekend was as good. Ohh yea I turned 29 Sunday! YEA!
