This weekend was supposed to be a 100 mile bike ride and a 22 mile run, Saturday and Sunday respectively. Saturday started later then I would have liked but I was on the bike by 9am and ready for the long ride ahead. The current temp when I left was around 57 and when I woke up it was around 49, so I figured it would be the usual day and get back up to the high 60's low 70's and I would be good. It was very overcast and cloudy but I didn't look at the weather because everytime I have I have chumped out and didn't get on my bike. I would have rather been caught in rain and pulled over and then called the wife to come get or just let her know where I was. So I figured I would wear double layer sleeveless shirts. Well I was cold the entire ride. I finally warmed up around hour 3 but that was not much of a warming.
Anyway, I found myself trying to extend my usual route by going down side roads to see how long they would go. I got down one and started hearing gun shots so I turned around. Another one I was on started to look like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, so I turned around. Not cool to have weird people try and touch you while you are on the bike. I expect dogs to come out and chase me but I had some random guy, possible mentally handicapped, come out and try to do something. I have no idea. Besides all of that I pulled into the house and got to mile 100 at 5hr 38 mins. Felt good, felt like I had properly hydrated and eaten. Stomach didn't hurt and muscles were just tired from the long day.
So Sunday comes around and we go to church and then head home so I can get ready and go for my long run. I decided to do my long run around where I work which is called the Donaldson Center loop. People bike out here everyday of the week and some pros come out on Tuesday and people, including myself, run around the loop. The loop is a 7.23 mile loop that is rolling around an old Air Force base. Well I was planning on doing 3 laps and then finishing it out to get to 22 miles. First lap I had to use the bathroom so bad the entire time. When I got back to my car I ran inside to where I work and dropped a deuce and come back out to finish. I felt A LOT better now and at this point my foot was acting up but that is normal until I get to a point where it stops. Just happens with my body. I don't know. So on to lap 2. I still felt good and I was hydrating and eating some Jelly Belly's and Clif Bloks. I got to mile 12 and felt ok but I could start to feel my hamstring tighten. Mile 13 OK YES MY HAMSTRING IS REALLY TIGHT NOW!!! Mile 14 Ok that doesn't feel good. My hamstring was tightening and starting to hurt where it attaches behind my knee. It also felt like my calf was starting to catch. I was not in awful pain. I could have run through it if needed. I could maintain my pace and keep going for the Ironman if needed but I decided at lap 2 that I was calling it a day.
Now I need to figure out what to do for the rest of this week. HELP???
Should I take the next 2 days off and try to do my long weekend? Should I push my long weekend to next weekend and just take it easy all week? I don't know what I should do really. I plan on taking a few days off and icing and heating this leg. Let me know!

I'm sorry about your run. I don't have any advice except to post on the trifuel forums? There are some really experienced people there who will help you, I'm sure.
Great ride on Saturday though even with the "adventures". You know, I mostly started reading your blog because I saw you were from South Carolina. My sister lived in North Carolina for about 8 years and I loved it back there. My favorite vacation we took was to South Carolina. Everything is so green back there but I never thought about what it would be like to ride or run on those roads.
Good luck.
Well you and I had pretty much the same run experience for the last long one. I made it 14 before the deciding recovery from the pain in my knees would be longer than acceptable.
Take a day off and ice and advil. I would do some training other than hard runs for a few days.
I would not put in a long workout this coming weekend,,,to close. But thats me.
