Well with the biggest achievement in endurance sports behind me, finishing an Ironman, I am wondering what I want to do next year in the sport of triathlon.
Well the first thing that comes to mind is trying to place in the top three for the SC Triathlon series put on by Set-Up Inc. in the "Fat Boy" or Clydesdale Division.
I will probably try to do some more local races, 5K and 10K distance, especially this off-season. I love running in the cold weather until it gets you sick but I should be past that time for myself. I usually get sick around the beginning of Nov. and then that is it for the year.
I plan on getting some local sponsorship just to pay for some entry fees and possibly get some gear. Not sure how all of that is going to work out but I will be hitting up some guys for some information.
Finally, I will be raising my first child, which has been amazing up to this point. Seeing him grow and advance is so cool. T-man is going to be a hand full. I can already tell I will getting back everything I put my parents through. There are some things that are hard wired and passed on to our children and stubbornness and wanting to do what he wants to do is what I have given my son. I just hope he has his mother's heart, because that will be my only saving grace. She got one spanking! I got one as soon as I woke up, and 90% of the time I deserved them. Just like mixing it up at the Florida Ironman, this will be challenging but fun! Can't wait for this to continue.
My workouts this week have been ZERO, NADA, NOTHING! I feel good but my left leg and hamstring are tight and I will probably start weight training and low mileage next week. I really need to work on my diet so I can stay right around 200lbs or just right below. I would do something this week but I am leading my church's Men's prayer breakfast Saturday. So my lecturing series begins. HA HA
I plan on continuing this as a workout log and my plans for the future. PEACE!
